Troubleshooting Sending Emails From Gmail Account using Send Email block..

Leapwork can send emails from any email account using the Send Email block. This block requires SMTP settings for the email server to be set up in the studio email settings section.

Although all email accounts work perfectly, in case you are experiencing difficulties in sending the mails through G mail and you get the error message "Test Connection Failed" while testing the connection in the Email settings, you can fix this by configuring additional settings in your Gmail account.

Even though the test connection is successful, you might still face issues while sending the email through Schedule.

Gmail has a feature that allows you to block sign-in attempts at the domain or organizational unit level from some apps or devices that do not use modern security standards. The same holds true for any Automation Software. You need to turn this setting on for using the Gmail account.

To configure this:

  1. Go to Google Security Settings

  2. Login with your credentials that you are using to send the email.

  3. Scroll down and turn the Allow less secure apps setting to ON.

Try retesting the connection once it is done. Please run the scheduler using the specified SMTP settings, and it should successfully send the email as a post-action trigger from the scheduler.
