Preview environment is empty in Remote Desktop Connection to Windows 7 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 OS
Description
Due to limitations in the desktop duplication technology on Windows 7 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems, some features of Leapwork Studio cannot be used properly through a Remote Desktop Connection. Due to the same reason "Preview environment" is blank on Remote Desktop Connection to Windows 7 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems.
Resolution
It’s still possible to run Leapwork Agent on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, and use it as System Under Test, but it’s not possible to connect via RDP and use Leapwork Studio.
Leapwork Studio is fully functional on Windows 7 (Windows Server 2008 R2) under the following conditions:
- Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 on a physical machine with physical display(s)
- Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 as System Under Test with Leapwork Agent running
- Windows 8 or higher in any configuration also while using RDP, this limitation was lifted in Windows 8 and later.
