Welcome to our FAQ page. We've compiled a list of the most common questions we receive from our valued customers to provide you with quick and helpful answers. If you don't find the information you need here, please feel free to contact our customer support team for further assistance.

Q: What are the prerequisites for a subscription?

Answer: CSP (Cloud Solution Provider) partners with CSP subscriptions, Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) or Microsoft Partner Agreement (MPA), Pay as you go, Azure Plan subscriptions are allowed to be purchased, so typically the subscriptions which have valid payment instrument like credit card or invoice payment method are eligible to purchase the Marketplace offers.

Free or benefit-type, pre-paid subscriptions are not allowed to purchase Marketplace offers such as free trial Azure, Sponsorship, Visual Studio, etc. Subscriptions with credits are not allowed to purchase the Marketplace offers. The user account must have Owner or Contributor permissions on the Azure subscription to perform transactions related to Marketplace offer.

Q: What types of resources are created?

Answer: Leapwork creates several types of resources when deploying its managed resource group, which includes the following components:

Q: What are the VM sizes, SKU & deployment settings?

Answer: Below VM SKU is for the default setup, it could be changed depending on what level of features, tasks or flows will run on the Leapwork platform which may require scaling the compute.

Installation scenario - Multiple teams, medium usage 25 users, 500 flows, 10 agents, 2 runs per day, 500 * 10 * 2 = 10,000 flows run per day, 500 keyframes per-flow run, 100 bytes per keyframe = 10,000 * 500 * 100 = 500 MB new run data per day.

Note: Leapwork studio installation should be done on the machine where testing will be performed. Number of VMs = Controller + Agent + Studio (if you wish to use the Studio within a VM).

Q: Are there any VNets created?

Answer: Yes, one Virtual Network (vNet) will be created during the deployment. You will have the opportunity to input the Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CDR) and subnet details as needed during deployment.

Q: Which type of SQL DB instance is created and what is the authentication type?

Answer: The 2 SQL DB instance created is an Azure-managed SQL server with the following specifications:

Q: Do the resources need public internet access?

Answer: No, Leapwork does not require internet access to function. However, it is essential to permit communication between Leapwork components. It’s important to note that all three components (Studio, Controller, and Agent) can be installed on physical and virtual machines in protected networks behind firewalls and without internet access.

Q: Firewall settings for the VM; we will need to add some rules ourselves.

Answer: Yes, you will need to configure firewall settings by adding specific rules to enable seamless communication. Here are the necessary network configurations:
