Leapwork Enterprise - SQL Database Backup steps
Leapwork Enterprise - SQL Database Backup Steps
To take a backup of your database using SQL Server Management Studio, follow steps mentioned below:
You must follow the below prerequisites before taking the backup:
Pre-requisites:
Export all the flows and save them.
Stop the Leapwork Controller service from Windows services.
Take a backup of the C:\Program Files\Leapwork\Assets folder, which has the Automation Run Media.
Steps to take backup for Leapwork Databases:
Launch SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and connect to your SQL Server instance.
Expand the Databases node in Object Explorer. For Leapwork there will be 2 databases - Asset and Report; please note that the name for these are subjective, and your Leapwork Admin should be aware of the exact name given in your environment during the installation.
Right-click on the respective database, hover over Tasks, and select Back up.
Under Destination, confirm that the path for your backup file is correct. If you need to change the path, select Remove to remove the existing path, and then Add to type in a new path. You can use the ellipses to navigate to a specific file.
Select OK to take a backup of your database.
The above steps need to be done for each of the Leapwork databases - Asset and Report.
Once the backup is taken and required maintenance activity is done on the Leapwork Controller machine (upgrade/hardware changes), you can start the Leapwork Controller services and validate data in Leapwork Studio. For any issues observed, you may need to restore the data. Please refer this for restoration for the Enterprise version.
