Launch Leapwork Studio Directly from PDF Reports – Registry Setup Steps

In this article, you will learn how to configure your system (via Registry Editor) to enable the opening of Leapwork Studio directly from the PDF report generated for a successful scheduled execution, when the report is opened in Adobe Acrobat. This configuration allows users to seamlessly navigate from the report to Leapwork Studio. To achieve this, specific Windows Registry entries must be modified.

Prerequisites

• Leapwork Studio must be installed on the machine.
• Administrator rights will be required to modify registry entries.

Steps to Modify Windows Registry

1. Open Registry Editor

You can open the Registry Editor in one of the following two ways:

• Method 1: Press Windows + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
• Method 2: Click the Start button, type Registry Editor, and click Yes to Open.

2. Navigate to the Registry Key Path

Go to the following path in the Registry Editor:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown\cDefaultLaunchURLPerms

3. Refer to the Value Name tFlashContentSchemeWhiteList

• Update the Value data from:

http|https|ftp|rtmp|rtmpe|rtmpt|rtmpte|rtmps|mailto

• To:

http|https|ftp|rtmp|rtmpe|rtmpt|rtmpte|rtmps|mailto|leapwork

4. Refer to the Value Name tSchemePerms ( at the same registry key path)

• Update the Value data from:

Expected Behavior After Setup

After completing the above steps, when you open the PDF report in Adobe Acrobat, Clicking the link >Open in Leapwork Studio in the PDF report will launch Leapwork Studio.
