I am unable to Capture anything on IE

Description:

Recently it has been observed on some machines running Windows 10 that capturing web elements in IE suddenly stopped working. We believe this is due to one or more forced upgrades of Windows that isn't supported in the latest version of the Selenium driver for IE.

We deeply regret the inconvenience this has caused. Our engineers are working urgently to perform a thorough investigation of the root cause, and are working with the Selenium open source initiative so that a workaround or resolution can be released.

Resolution:

The issue is currently not resolved, but we suggest the following workarounds:

We have found that an older version of the 32-bit Selenium driver for IE resolves the issue on most machines. You can download and unzip this file and place it in your Studio installation folder (C:\Program Files\LEAPWORK\Studio): http://selenium-release.storage.googleapis.com/3.9/IEDriverServer_Win32_3.9.0.zip.

After IE driver replacement the user has to change security settings on Internet Explorer. The required setting for all four IE zones are shown below.

Note: If you are running your test on Agent machines then you have to replace IE driver in folder (C:\Program Files\LEAPWORK\Agent) and perform IE settings as mentioned above.

If possible, use Microsoft Edge, Chrome or Firefox to capture the controls and then run your automation cases in IE.
If your application only supports IE, consider using the Desktop UI blocks, which is well suited for working with IE.
