How to set up Mobile Device Configuration

Introduction
In this article, you will get a step-by-step guide on how to configure mobile devices (iOS and Android) for use with Leapwork. It covers the process of setting up mobile connections, adding devices, and entering essential details like device name, OS version, and UDID for both iOS and Android devices. Additionally, you will learn how to test the configurations and apply changes within the Leapwork Studio environment.

Mobile Configurations
Once the connections are set up, the admin can choose to configure multiple devices to the connections based on the availability.

Configuration with Devices:

iOS Device Configuration
The user can complete the device setup by configuring the mobile devices under the Mobile Configurations tab.

By clicking on Add next to Mobile, the details can be set up as shown in the image below:

  1. Select from the list of connections added under the Connections tab.

  2. Based on the device, choose the OS type.

  3. Provide a device name for the device being configured.

  4. Enter the version of the OS.

  5. Enter the Udid of the device.

    • The user can obtain the Udid of the connected device by clicking on the Apple logo → More Info → System report → Hardware → USB as shown in the below screenshot:

  6. Enter the value for XcodeOrgId - Can be obtained from the apple dev portal.

  7. Enter the XcodeSigningID - Can be obtained from the apple dev portal.

The user can test the configuration by clicking on the Test Configuration button.

The user can choose to apply the changes which would then be saved.

Android Device Configuration
The user can configure an Android device in addition to iOS device by following the below steps.

By clicking on Add next to Mobile, the details of the device can be configured.

  1. Select the desired connection from the list of connections available.
  2. Choose the OS type as Android.
  3. Provide a device name for easier identification.
  4. Enter the platform version of the OS.
  5. Enter the Udid of the device. (Details to capture are provided below)

Note: The Udid for an android device can be obtained by giving the following command in the command prompt
C:\Users\username>adb devices
OR
C:\>adb devices

The user can test the configuration by clicking on the Test Configuration button.

Once validated, the user can choose to apply the changes which will be reflected next to the Mobile label.

Now, the user can save the details which will then be displayed under the Mobile Configurations screen.
