The **Set date/time** building block is used to define a **date/time value** that can be delivered to other building blocks in a flow.

Fully expanded, the **Set date/time** block has the following properties:

**Note:** The screenshot on this page uses the **Elegance Design**, introduced in **2025.3**. If you are using an earlier version, your layout may look different.

## Quick-start

1. Drag **Set date/time** onto the canvas.
2. Specify the **Date/time** value, and expand the field if you want to set **Date** and **Time** components separately.
3. Use the resulting value by connecting it to the next block that needs a date/time input, then run the flow when it’s ready.

## Building block parameters

Parameters

- **Block header**: Shows the current title of the block. You can rename it by double-clicking the header text and typing a new title. This block has **no green input or output connectors** in the header because it is not explicitly executed. Instead, it is used to set a date/time value for other blocks.

- **Date/time**: Defines the date/time value. You can specify the individual components (year, month, day, hour, minute, second, and millisecond) and then use either the full date/time value or only the date part or time part. Use the expander controls to work with the components separately.

- **Date**: Available when you expand **Date/time**. Use it when you want to work with only the date portion of the value.

- **Time**: Available when you expand **Date/time**. Use it when you want to work with only the time portion of the value.
