Select UI Element

The Select UI Element building block selects a value inside a desktop UI control (for example, a dropdown/combobox or a multi-select list) in an already open application window. You can select a single value, add additional values to an existing selection, or remove values from a selection by using Method together with Filter criteria.

Fully expanded, the Select UI Element block shows the following properties:

Note: The screenshot on this page uses the Elegance Design , introduced in 2025.3. If you are using an earlier version, your layout may look different.

Quick-start

  1. Drag Select UI Element onto the canvas.
  2. Connect the block in the flow and specify Select UI Element , then set Method and the filter settings you need (Filter and Value). Optionally set Source element, Use occurred, scrolling, and timeout-related settings.
  3. Run the flow when it's ready.

Parameters

Note: All cases have a global timeout configured in the Settings panel. This is unrelated to the timeout of a single building block. However, a running case will automatically be cancelled if it runs for longer than the global timeout.
